Residential Interior Glass
Frosted Privacy Windows
Low Iron Steam Shower
Wellesley, MA
This master bathroom renovation in Wellesley, MA presented a familiar challenge: the homeowners wanted the warmth and openness of large windows overlooking a lush backyard, but needed full privacy for daily use. The solution was a custom frosted glass treatment with a 2″ clear border running the full perimeter of each window — diffusing the view while framing the greenery beyond in a way that feels intentional rather than concealed.
The frameless steam shower enclosure was fabricated using low iron glass, chosen for its optical clarity. Standard glass carries a faint green cast from iron content in the material; low iron glass virtually eliminates this tint, allowing the warm-veined marble tile inside the shower to read exactly as the designer intended — no color shift, no distortion.
Together, these two glass elements give the bathroom a cohesive, understated luxury that lets the materials and architecture speak for themselves.

The clear border: privacy without the closed-in feeling
A fully frosted window solves the privacy problem but can make a bathroom feel cut off from the outdoors. The 2″ clear glass border threads the needle — the frosted center provides complete coverage at eye level, while the perimeter band keeps a visual connection to the trees and light outside. It’s a small detail that makes a meaningful difference in how the room feels to be in.
